AtomOS 10.83 with ProRes RAW support for Sony ILME-FR7, Sony ILME-FX30 and Fujifilm X-H2

We are happy to announce the new firmware (AtomOS 10.83) to enable ProRes RAW recording for the Sony FR7 and Fujifilm X-H2 and for the newly announced Sony ILME-FX30 – the latest addition to the extensive list of ATOMOS’ ProRes RAW supported cameras. This FW-update is available to download now on the ATOMOS support page for NINJA V/V+ and Shogun CONNECT.

The FW 10.83 enables external ProRes RAW recording for:

  • Sony ILME-FR7 at up to 4Kp120 via SDI with Shogun CONNECT or NINJA V+ (with Atomos CONNECT attached) and up to 4Kp60 via HDMI with NINJA V
  • Fujifilm X-H2 up to 8Kp30 over HDMI with Shogun CONNECT and NINJA V+
  • The newly added Sony ILME-FX30 up to 4.7Kp60 over HDMI with SHOGUN CONNECT and NINJA V+ and 4.7Kp30 over HDMI with NINJA V

ATOMOS’ ProRes RAW and the newly announced Sony FX30

ATOMOS NINJA V / V+ and Shogun CONNECT are the perfect match for the new Sony FX30. In combination with NINJA V recording 4.7K over HDMI up to 29.97fps creatives get a compact and versatile package that suits all kinds of rigs and production types. The powerful IC3 chip in the NINJA V+ and Shogun CONNECT offers ProRes RAW recording up to 59.94fps over HDMI compared to Sony’s internal recording of 4Kp60 (no RAW) making this set-up a futureproof and powerful combination that pushes the boundaries of content creation.

This combination brings ProRes RAW in a lightweight and compact set-up and presents new possibilities for a bigger range of creatives by offering:

  • Creatives the confidence in what they are shooting on a larger screen – with Shogun CONNECT’s 7-inch and NINJA V / V+ 5- inch HDR screens which provide clarity of image and the widest dynamic range even in the brightest situations
  • Full control of the image with all the popular ATOMOS monitoring functionalities like waveform, focus peaking, false colour, frame guides and more – giving creatives the confidence they deserve whilst shooting
  • Connected workflows with ATOMOS Cloud Studio for remote review, approval and collaboration with the integration of Frame.io Camera to Cloud (C2C) in combination with Shogun CONNECT and Atomos CONNECT for NINJA V and V+
  • Live streaming to Facebook Live, Twitch, YouTube and custom RTMP destinations straight from the camera when working with Shogun CONNECT or NINJA V / V+ with Atomos CONNECT attached
  • The dual record feature of Shogun CONNECT and NINJA V / V+ (with Atomos CONNECT attached) creates matching “hero” Apple ProRes and Avid DHxHR/HD and “proxy” HEVC (H.265) files simultaneously for C2C workflows
  • Storage media compatible with the NINJA V / V+ and Shogun CONNECT makes capturing more affordable

ProRes RAW becomes an ever more popular tool in creation

ATOMOS now supports recording of ProRes RAW from 46 different cameras – in September alone three cameras have been added to the line-up with Sony’s ILME-FR7 and Fujifilm X-H2 and now the Sony FX30.
